Chateau Simard has always done things a little differently. Whereas most of its neighbors seem dead set on making as much money as possible and as quickly as possible, Simard is held back for at least ten years from its vintage date. And that ten years is spent in barrel and in bottle as the wine develops aromatically and blossoms into the complex beauty it was always meant to be.
WA88-90 : Richly fruity, exuberant and extroverted, Simard's 2010 reveals copious notes of licorice, fruitcake, spice box, black cherries and black currants along with medium to full body, a supple texture. By Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, May 2011.
