Tasting note |
The Saito family founded their business in Fushimi in the late 17th century and while their first business was in the kimono/apparel trade, they switched over to sake brewing in 1895, during a period of great change and upheaval in Japanese society. The 9th generation of the Saito family decided to step away from the kimono business and embark on sake brewing, and in the years since the Saito Sake Brewing Company has become a watchword for tradition and high quality sake. The company has won the gold award at the Annual Japan Sake Awards 14 years in succession to become the most successful company in this history of the awards. Saito Sake Brewing Company is rightly proud of the outstanding quality of its sake.
