Tasting note |
A blend from several parcels, the 2016 Marsannay Village has a lifted bouquet with redcurrant, crushed strawberry and light flinty aromas that gain intensity with aeration, but remain focused. The palate is medium-bodied with quite bold tannin. There is clearly good extraction here without unbalancing this Marsannay, while there is a subtle fishy tang right on the finish that keeps you intrigued. This should be enticing once in bottle, perhaps a more cerebral wine that its status might suggest. |
