Tasting note |
This is actually quite aromatically similar to the Corton-Grèves though with a bit more elegance. The elegance continues onto the sleekly muscular middle weight flavors that also exude evident minerality on the moderately austere finale that offers both very fine depth and length. This also possess excellent development potential and is a wine that's going to need at least a decade first. By Allen Meadows, Apr 2021.
Power and grace go together in this decadently perfumed, cherry-soaked wine. Profoundly ripe and framed by fine-grained, rigid tannins, the structured, weighty wine is lifted by luminous raspberry and red-cherry flavors. Stunning in youth, the wine will continue to improve through 2040. By Wine Enthusiast, Mar 2022.
The 2019 Corton-Pougets Grand Cru (Domaine des Héritiers Jadot) is excellent, unwinding in the glass with notes of cherries, plums, orange rind, dark chocolate, sweet spices and toasty new oak. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and layered, it's deep and concentrated, with broad shoulders and rich, powdery structuring tannins. As usual, this is a fine proposition for the medium- to long-haul. By William Kelley @ Wine Advocate, Jan 2021.
Attractive mid crimson. A fuller plumper bouquet than the Grèves, as the fruit appears riper. Still shows up with some tannins at the back. At the moment the fruit is showing a little bit too much ripeness for classical tastes, but this is still a good wine. Tasted: October 2020. By Jasper Morris MW, Dec 2020. |
