Tasting note |
A bright red with currant and dried berry aromas that follow through to a medium body, firm tannins and a fruity finish. By James Suckling, Feb 2016.
The 2013 Brane-Cantenac is a wine of rare distinction. Tobacco, smoke, cedar, red plums and menthol all meld together in a striking, beautifully nuanced wine endowed with considerable personality and tons of style. The 2013 is soft and understated, but is also impeccable in its balance. By Antonio Galloni @ Vinous, Apr 2014.
Estate manager Henri Lurton continues to take this large 228-acre property from strength to strength. Of the final blend from microscopic yields of 22 hectoliters per hectare, only 38.9 % became Brane-Cantenac. Certainly this has turned out to be a good, soft, fruit-forward and attractive style of wine, with notes of plum, Asian soy, blackcurrants and forest floor. With fragrant aromatics and excellent ripeness, it is medium-bodied with slightly more texture than generally found in this vintage. By Robert Parker, Aug 2014.
