Tasting note |
A generous and fruity Barolo that shows mushroom, light toffee and chocolate character. Full body, round and velvety tannins and a flavorful finish. By James Suckling, Mar 2016.
This wine is known for its mid-weight appeal and delicate floral fragrances. The 2012 Barolo Tortoniano is true to form. The bouquet is silky and finessed with cola, anise seed, grilled rosemary and lightly spicy Teriyaki sauce. There is fruit here, but it is fleeting. You get more cherry and cassis characteristics in the mouth than you do on the bouquet. By Wine Advocate, Jun 2016. |
