Tasting note |
1982 was undoubtedly a great vintage and one that is often considered as one of Bordeaux’s finest. With exceptionally good climatic conditions all through the year, the harvest was early and generous. Cabernet Sauvignon: 48%, Merlot: 42%, Cabernet Franc: 7%, Petit Verdot: 3% The wine is adorned with a deep ruby color and a splash of garnet. The rich bouquet opens with notes of crushed black fruits, prunes, cinnamon, vanilla, gingerbread, bright tobacco, smoke and bay leaves. There is a beautiful blend of fruit and an expression of rare and noble tannins. The wine is fleshy, smooth and fresh, especially in its long and flavorful finish. Terroir and the Palmer style shine through. An accomplished wine, harmonious, it will keep well into the 20s (2020…). |
