Tasting note |
Vineyards: The grapes for this dessert wine come from the Grand Cru sites Kirchenstück, Jesuitengarten and Ungeheuer in Forst. The soil is a combination of red and yellow sandstone and basalt. Harvest: Selective handpicking of Botrytis grapes on October 29th, 2002 with 106° Oe into small 20 kg containers.
Vinification: Temperarture-controlled fermentation in old, 2500 l. oak casks and maturation until bottling on March 11th 2003.
Tasting Note: Brilliant golden colour, nose of candied fruit, dried apricot and mint followed by a fine taste of sweetness and minerality, a wine of great balance and finesse.
Food: Ideal with light fruit desserts, Crepes Suzette, but also with “Duck à l’orange” or cheese. |
