Tasting note |
Marguerite de Sénailhac was the granddaughter of a faithful advisor to Louis XV. She had her wine estate confiscated during the Revolution. She finally regained possession in 1794. As a tribute to her courage, we have given her name to the flavourful “Marguerite de Sénailhac”, which comes from the best vines of Château Sénailhac
The vineyards are cared for in the traditional manner, and a “reasoned” spraying regime is applied. There are two vinification cellars with temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, which means that the grapes can be carefully selected plot by plot before they are placed in the tanks. Following a period of maturing in wooden casks, the wine is produced by blending wines from barrels chosen after tasting. With its intense garnet colour, the wine offers a bouquet of aromas: animal, undergrowth, blackcurrant and bilberry. On the palate, its satiny and elegantly mellow tannins give off aromas of leather and dark berries. The spicy, fruity finish is pleasantly persistent, emphasising a fine balance. |
