A beautiful wine that should drink superbly for 15 years, this sensational 2007 was made from a tiny 26 hectoliters per hectare, and is a blend of 78% Merlot and 22% Cabernet Franc that achieved nearly 13.8% natural alcohol. The wonder duo of Nicolas Thienpont and Stephane Derenoncourt hit paydirt with this beauty, which may turn out to be a better balanced wine than their 2009. This opulent, sexy wine exhibits a dense ruby/plum/purple color, a full-bodied mouthfeel, sweet tannins, and lots of forest floor, black currant, ripe cherry, and mountain flora characteristics.
