In 888 AD, the Vikings invaded Bordeaux. Their long boats skirted the Medoc in full sail before stopping in this area, today called "Les Eyraux". Legened tells that, conquered themselves by the local wines, the Vikings let one winemaker keep his life in exchange for a few barrels of his best wine. Today, Coureau & Coureau, iconic Bordeaux winemakers, produce and export their Merlot dominated Chateau Les Eyraux to discerning clients around the world.
